Bible Buddy is a companion, not a substitute. Here’s the philosophy behind the product and how we keep the experience grounded.

How Bible Buddy supports Bible study (without replacing Scripture)

Bible Buddy is designed to support Bible study — not replace Scripture.

That may sound obvious, but it’s important to say clearly. Tools shape habits. We want Bible Buddy to encourage the kind of study that is steady, thoughtful, and grounded.

What Bible Buddy is (and isn’t)

Bible Buddy is:

  • A place to read and reflect
  • A way to capture insights through journaling
  • A helper for asking questions and exploring themes through conversation
  • A system for saving and revisiting what you’ve learned (favourites and memories)

Bible Buddy is not:

  • A replacement for reading the Bible
  • A substitute for your church, pastor, or community
  • A source of infallible answers

How we keep it grounded

We aim to build with a few practical constraints:

  • Clarity over cleverness: simple explanations are better than flashy ones.
  • Respectful tone: faith is personal. Our default tone is gentle and non-combative.
  • Safety first: guardrails and sensible defaults matter, especially in AI systems.

A note on AI

AI can be helpful for summarising, outlining themes, and suggesting reflection prompts. It can also be wrong. Bible Buddy treats AI as a tool — useful, but not authoritative.

If you ever want to double-check, cross-reference with your own reading, and consider trusted sources in your community.
