Bible Buddy is a safe and secure Bible Reader web app and Study Guide that helps you study Scripture in private with tools like AI-guided conversation, journaling, favourites, and memory so you can build a consistent study habit. The Number One Bible Study Companion.

What is Bible Buddy?

Bible Buddy is a web app that helps you study Scripture with tools like AI-guided conversation, journaling, favourites, and memory so you can build a consistent study habit.

Is Bible Buddy a replacement for reading the Bible?

No. While Bible Buddy does contain full copies of the Bible in multiple versions, it is designed to support reading and reflection, not replace Scripture. Think of it as a study companion: it helps you find, explore, ask questions, and capture insights. Your Buddy is ready to chat, explore, discuss and help you better understand scripture.

Which Bible versions do you support?

Bible Buddy supports most major bible versions such as King James Version, New International Version, English Standard Version, New King James Version, Christian Standard Bible, and New American Standard Bible. Available versions can vary by deployment and licensing. Inside the app you can choose the versions while reading.

How does the AI part work?

You can ask your chosen Buddy questions about passages or themes and receive explanations, summaries, and reflection prompts. Or you can just chat about your day, your thoughts, or anything else you want to discuss. We aim for a respectful, practical tone with clear citations where possible.

Do you store my chats and journal entries?

The app only stores your content to provide features like history, favourites, and long-term memories. Please review the Privacy Policy for details on what we store and why.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can delete your data at any time. We plan to provide self-serve export and deletion tools as the product matures. In the meantime, you can contact support for assistance.

Is my data secure?

Yes, your data is secure and protected by many different layers of encryption and access controls. All data is encrypted at rest in our Supabase-managed Postgres database and encrypted in transit over TLS, with SSL enforced on every database connection. Access to your rows is gated by Row Level Security (RLS) policies so users can only read and write their own records, and we keep strict discipline around the service role — it is only used server-side for narrowly scoped, audited operations, never exposed to the browser. Database roles follow the principle of least privilege so each component only has the permissions it actually needs. We do not write raw chat content or personal data into our application logs, automated backups are encrypted, and we conduct regular reviews of our security posture, RLS policies, and access patterns to catch issues early.

Is Bible Buddy free?

Yes, Bible Buddy has a free tier and many features are free to all users. Bible Reader is always free to use, as is the Journal, Favorites and Highlights. Pricing and plans may change as we introduce more features and during early access, availability can be limited and some accounts may require approval.

Is there an age restriction?

Yes. You must be at least 16 years old to create a Bible Buddy account. This policy exists because Bible Buddy uses AI language models to generate conversational responses, and we believe younger users should have parental guidance when interacting with AI-generated content. We also collect and store limited personal data and usage patterns to provide features like memory and personalisation. Restricting sign-up to users aged 16 and over helps us meet our obligations under data-protection regulations and ensures we handle young people’s privacy responsibly.
